William J. McCool III – Chair
Bill is the retired Executive Director of United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware, Inc. He served as Director from 1985 to 2018. After he graduated from the University of Delaware, he held the position as an Adult Basic Education teacher for the New Castle County Vo-Tech School District. The students he taught were adults with disabilities.
Bill was also the past Chairperson of the Coordinating Council for Children with Disabilities, and served as a member of the National United Cerebral Palsy Associations National Administrator Council. As his accomplishments have been very notable, he is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Delaware State Council for People with Disabilities.
Because of his commitment to the disability community, the passion for the work he does continues on during his retirement, writing numerous capital grants for Be Ready Community Development Corporation to help fund the construction of Solomon’s Court, Phases 1 and 2.
He currently holds the position as the Executive Director of the Garrett House, Inc., a HUD 811 housing project for people with physical disabilities.
